Donald Leedy

Dr. Donald Ka Leedy (aka "Doc" or "DK"), 82, passed away on August 28, 2023, in Annapolis, MD. He was born on October 24, 1940, in New Paris, IN, and grew up in Knox, IN on Bass Lake.

Don was a beloved pediatrician in the Indianapolis area, serving thousands of families over his four-decade practice. Don's commitment to the well-being of children was evident in his work, and he made a lasting impact on the families he served. Don was the founder of the Riviera Pediatrics group, where he dedicated himself to providing exceptional care to children and helping other doctors be successful in their profession.

In addition to his medical career, Don was an entrepreneur, starting multiple businesses throughout his lifetime. He was a passionate and knowledgeable antique collector and dealer. He appreciated the beauty and history behind each piece he acquired, and his sizable collection was a testament to his keen eye for fine craftsmanship.

Don loved to travel. He circumvented the globe numerous times, exploring different cultures and experiencing the wonders of the world.

Don's educational journey took him to Purdue University and then Indiana University, where he attended Indiana University Medical School. During his younger years, Don served as a medical doctor in the Air Force from 1967 to 1970, stationed in Misawa, Japan. His military service allowed him to develop valuable skills and experiences that would contribute to his medical career.

Don will be remembered as a competent pediatrician, a successful entrepreneur, and a passionate collector. He will be deeply missed by all whose lives he touched.

Don is survived by his older brother, John, and his three children, David, Chris, and Kim. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Howard and Chuck, as well as his father, Harold, and mother, Dorothy. His memory will be cherished by his family and friends.
