Our beloved wife, mom and nana, Beth (Walker) Smith, died unexpectedly on May 17, 2024. She was 85.
Beth was the matriarch of our home and family. She raised three children, Chuck, Laurie, and Randy, in a loving home to be independent and thoughtful adults. Mom was married for 65 years to her husband, Charles L. Smith Sr. She adored and nurtured her grandchildren, Devin, Jeremy, Blake, Emilee, and Meghan. Mom is survived by her brother, Dale and two sisters, Devone and Patsy. Beth was born in Baxley, GA and raised in Brunswick, GA, along with her seven siblings. Beth graduated from Glynn Academy and married the following year. She was a passionate and talented cook who loved to read and watch old movies and British TV shows. She was a sewing extraordinaire who sewed all her daughter’s costumes for various events. She was a woman of many talents whose life was devoted to taking care of her siblings, children, and grandchildren. They all were the love of her life. Beth loved to laugh and enjoy family gatherings where her cooking was the center of all happiness. Mom was known for her infectious laugh and kindness. She was the heart and soul of our family, and will be dearly missed by all who cared for her. At Mom’s request, there will be no services, but her immediate family did hold a viewing to say goodbye.
