Delbert Urbain , 76, of Brazil, passed away Mother’s Day, May 8, 2011 after a brief battle with lung cancer.
He was born June 26, 1934 to Roy and Viola (Brown) Urbain.
Delbert was a long time truck driver and musician, playing at many bars in the area and on WSDM radio. He enjoyed racing, camping, fishing, and watching western movies. He especially enjoyed playing the guitar and dobro. He was a long time resident of Bridgeton and Brazil.
He is survived by his companion of 35 years Ruth Urbain and Children Kathy (Chester) Crague of Rosedale, Troy (Lori) Urbain of St. Bernice and Melissa Urbain of Greencastle and Brian (Doris) Smith of Seelyville; grandchildren: Chad Crague, Courtney Crague, Jordan Urbain, Jacki (Tike) Wilson, Jami (Keith) Morris and Bobby Coffey Jr. and 3 great grandchildren; siblings Alberta Brower, Hazel Moore, Ella Mary Smith and Gary Urbain.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings: Evelyn Naughgles, James Urbain, Betty Vogel, Levi Urbain, Roy Urbain Jr. and Effie Brower.
Services will be at Lawson-Miller Chapel, Thursday May 12, 2011 at 11:00am. Burial will follow at Clear Run Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home Wednesday from 4-8pm.
