Celebrating the Life of
October 29, 1953 — June 15, 2024
Deadra Daniels from San Diego, CA passed away in San Diego on June 15, 2024, at the age of 71. She will be greatly missed. In loving memory of our beloved Nana, we gather to celebrate her life and the indelible mark she left on our hearts. She was a force to be reckoned with, a woman of unyielding spirit and unwavering conviction. Her sharp mind and quick wit could slice through any obstacle, leaving in its wake a trail of wisdom and insight.
Grandma's love for black history was unparalleled. She lived and breathed it, pouring over books and documentaries, and sharing her knowledge with anyone who would listen. Her passion was contagious, igniting a fire within us to learn more about our heritage and the struggles of those who came before us. Her love for black culture was a source of strength and pride, reminding us of the rich tapestry that is our collective identity.
But beyond her fierce intellect and unwavering dedication to her heritage, Nana was a sweet soul. Her heart was full of love, kindness, and compassion. She had a special gift for making everyone feel seen, heard, and valued. Whether she was serving up a bowl of chili , offering sage advice, or simply lending a listening ear, Nana love and care were always present. Nana wore many hats with grace and humility. She was a rock for her daughters Deadra and Brandi, providing stability and support through life's ups and downs. Her love for her children and grandchildren knew no bounds; she was the epitome of selflessness, always putting others before herself.
Nana spiciness was legendary – not just in her cooking, but in her spirit as well. She was unafraid to speak her mind, to stand up for what she believed in, and to challenge those who dared to disrespect her or hers. But beneath that tough exterior lay a heart of gold, beating with love for her family and community.
As we say goodbye to this extraordinary woman, we take comfort in the memories we shared with her. We remember the laughter, the stories, the hugs, and the wise words of wisdom she imparted to us. We honor her legacy by continuing to strive for excellence in all aspects of our lives, just as she did.
Rest in peace, dear Nana. Your fiery spirit will continue to inspire us as we navigate the world without you. Your love will never be forgotten.
