Celebrating the Life of
March 24, 1959 — February 26, 2024
David “Dave” Michael Wronski (1959-2024)
Dave was born in Milwaukee in 1959 to Gerald Wronski and Nancy Dubis. In 1979 Dave met the love of his life, Resa. Excited to start their new life together, the two married in Racine, WI on November 1st, 1980. Together they moved to West Bend, WI. When they first moved he had a part time job at Bertram’s tavern, where he got the nickname “Taco Wronski”; Since he did not cook the owners Dick and Linda needed to serve tacos on his shifts.
In 1985 they welcomed a son, Chris. Three years later they had their daughter Samantha. In 2009 Dave and Resa became grandparents for the first time to their granddaughter, Sophia. In following years, they welcomed three more grandchildren, Graham, Scarlett, and Sebastian. Dave enjoyed every visit. He loved each of their different personalities, gave countless hugs and snuggles, watched many kids movies, and loved watching them swim, play, and grow. Each grandchild had a special place in his heart.
Family holidays and gatherings were important to Dave. The family home was shared with all. Dave enjoyed planning special occasions and he always looked forward to the parties he hosted.
Dave made sure to keep busy. He played softball, basketball, golf, video games, darts, pool, hosted annual scavenger hunts in the fall, and in the winter months he competed in multiple Tiddlywinks tournaments and played in his weekly card club with his friends. He was a coach for soccer for both Chris and Samantha for many years. When both kids played in the High School Band he attended every opportunity to see them, including countless concerts and parades. There were also many family adventures. Dave would get up on a weekend, get the family loaded into the car, and drive to find a small town to discover. Also while living in Campbellsport, the family made many memories attending and hosting weekend bonfires in the neighborhood.
Dave and Resa always had date nights. On Fridays they would go out for Friday night fish fries and Old Fashions. They attended plays at The Fireside in Fort Atkinson, along with The Malthouse in Burlington, where Dave’s father was involved. They were each other's travel buddies; From camping when they were younger to a Caribbean Cruise for their 25th wedding anniversary. Being together, or as a whole family, was Dave's favorite. It didn't matter what they did, as long as they were together.
Dave had an interest in challenging himself; This was reflected not only in his family life, but also in his professional life. In 1979 Dave was hired as a Civil Engineering Draftsman for the city of West Bend. Soon after, he decided to take the State of Wisconsin Licensed Engineer Exam. Without the formal education common in the field, he studied hard, took the test, and earned his Professional Engineer License in the State of Wisconsin. He became a Traffic Engineer for the City of West Bend. In 2014 he took a position as a Professional Traffic Engineer with the WI DOT in Madison, WI. After 8 years Dave retired at the age of 62.
While Dave’s retirement was not that long, the family and grandchildren had a lot of quality time together these last few years.
He may be gone, he may be missed, but he will never be forgotten. Their family’s love will always be.
He is preceded in death by his Father: Gerald Wronski, Mother: Nancy Dubis, Brother: Michael Wronski, Sister: Laurie Tasktonis, Father-in-law: Daniel Sullivan II, and Mother-in-law: Bonnie Sullivan.
Dave is survived by his Wife: Theresa (Resa) Wronski, Son: Christopher Wronski, Daughter: Samantha (Rick) Brammer, Grandchildren: Sophia Wronski, Graham Wronski, Scarlett Wronski, and Sebastian Wronski. Brothers: Kirk Wronski and Brian Dubis, Sisters: Sue Dubis and Kim Wronski. Aunts: Cheryl Kaminski, Kathleen Wabiszewski, and Pat Czerwinski, as well as many cousins and friends that felt like family.
