In 1984, my husband took a job in West Palm Beach. I joined the RE/MAX real estate office in Lake Worth and met D'etta who was an agent there. Even though her degree was in nursing, she was a darn good realtor. When we both became single, we attended the same church and enjoyed a weekly Bible study with other single women in my home. We would go the movies and go out to eat regularly. Later, D'etta met Jack and had many wonderful parties at their home. She was a great host. After Jack passed away, we took several cruises together. This picture was made on Holland America where we toured the Panama Canal. This was a two week trip that ended in San Diego where we flew home. We were fortunate to have the ship's doctor sit at our dinner table every night with her husband. In the picture above, Captain Tim Roberts is on the left next to me, the ship's doctor is next to me in the white jacket, D'etta (who looks FABULOUS!), and the doctor's husband is next to D'etta. The stops for this trip were Aruba (which was one of my favorite stops), Panama Canal (unbelievable how that big ship got thru the canal!!), Puerto Caldera, Huatulco in Mexico where we attended an open wall church for Sunday services in Spanish, Acapulco (loved this stop!), Cabo San Lucas where we bought some beautiful jewelry (loved this city!!) and ended up in San Diego. D'etta loved her evening cocktail and never met a stranger!!! I would joke with her that she would talk to a door knob!!! Wish I had that self confidence!!! D'etta had a wonderful life and I miss our time together. After she was diagnosed with Parkinsons it was difficult to go out. I would pick up Kentucky Fried Chicken and just go visit. During this time, there were many trips to the doctor but we would always go to Rosalita's which was our favorite Mexican restaurant. She loved Red Lobster where we generally left with some of their wonderful cheese biscuits. I miss her!!! Rest in Peace!!

D'etta is second from left in brown top. Another Bible study night.

D'etta is on the right in the yellow top. D'etta was a member of my Bible study group of single women. We met weekly and ate a lot!!
