Clifford O. Stickney

Clifford O. Stickney, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend, passed away peacefully on January 8, 2025, in Puyallup, Washington, at the age of 84. Born on July 27, 1940, in Ellensburg, Washington, Cliff was the son of Fred and Georgia Stickney and brother to Ken Stickney.

Cliff grew up in Puyallup, WA and graduated from Puyallup High School in 1958. Shortly after, he served two years of active duty with the U.S. Coast Guard Reserves. Following his service, he worked as a brick mason alongside his father and brother before embarking on a career at Boeing that spanned over 30 years. Throughout his career, he was known for his dedication and work ethic. Cliff retired at the age of 58, ready to devote more time to the family he cherished.

In 1962, Cliff married the love of his life, Lynne Stickney. Their marriage of over 62 years was a testament to their deep love and commitment. Together, they raised four children and created a home filled with love, laughter, and treasured memories.

Cliff is survived by his wife, Lynne; their children, Amy (Kyle) Steves, Melissa Gagliardi, Joel (Kylene) Stickney, and Elizabeth (Jason) Crawford; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, his brother Ken, and his son-in-law Michael Gagliardi.

A devoted family man, Cliff found immense joy in spending time with his loved ones at their property in Surfside, Washington. He delighted in beachcombing for sand dollars and glass floats along the Pacific Coast, often with his children by his side. His compassion and warmth extended to his pets, including his beloved Pomeranian, Fluffy, who became a local celebrity during their daily walks through Sumner. Cliff’s bond with his pets endured even after they were gone, including his cherished companion Cuddles, who shared over 12 wonderful years with him.

Cliff was an active member of the Presbyterian Church in Puyallup, where he served as an Elder. He took pride in caring for his home, whether it was mowing the lawn or tending to his beautiful roses and embarking on road trips to create new memories.

Above all, Cliff will be remembered for his unwavering devotion to family. If you were considered family, you were never forgotten by him. He was always there to lend a helping hand or a listening ear, embodying a rare kind of loyalty and love. His kindness, warmth, and gentle spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, January 12, 2025, at 1:30 p.m. at Puyallup Evangelical Church located at Best Western Park Plaza – 620 South Hill Park Drive Puyallup, Washington 98373. In memory of Cliff, you are welcome to wear a fedora.
