Celebrating the Life of
November 2, 1942 — May 31, 2025
Cynthia M. “Cindy” Fox, 82, of Steuben County, NY, passed away unexpectedly on May 30, 2025.
Born on November 2, 1942, in Vestal, NY, to John and Pearl McCarthy, Cindy was the second of two children and shared a close bond with her family throughout her life.
Cindy was a woman of warmth, joy, and quiet strength. Her spirit radiated love—never missing a birthday, anniversary, or holiday, and always showing up with a thoughtful card and a heart full of kindness. She made every gathering brighter with her warm hugs, her laughter, and the occasional impromptu polka dance that brought smiles to everyone around her.
She shared her life with her beloved husband, Michael Fox, with whom she built a life rooted in love and devotion. She is also deeply cherished by her daughter Loucinda Gareau of Cleveland, OH, and her brother Larry McCarthy of Bath, NY.
Cindy’s legacy lives on in her granddaughters, Chelsea and Paige, and grandsons, Dennis and Shane—all of whom were touched by her generous heart. Her dear friend, Selina Wilson of Bath, NY, held a unique place in Cindy’s life as a true companion and source of comfort.
Though her physical presence will be missed, her love remains—a guiding light that continues to live in the hearts of all who knew her.
