TAYLOR, Christina “Chrissy” Jane– passed at the Queen Elizabeth II Hospital, Halifax on November 28, 2025. Chrissy in her 73rd year, joins her mother Marie, father Frank and brother Paul. She is survived by her only remaining sibling, Pat and her husband Miles, her nephew Christopher and niece Katherine and her partner Kristen MacLean (and Winnie, Willy and Goblin),her aunt Vera Hales, cousin Marie and Georgie Andryjowycz, aunt Bea and cousin Billy Terlecki, and more friends than anyone could ever possibly name.
Chrissy was always quick to lend a helping hand by giving a friend a ride or washing some dishes- “Uber Chrissy, works for food!”. Chrissy had an incredibly kind and generous spirit not only while she was here with us but also in her death. Chrissy was an organ donor and she was able to change the lives of five individuals with the donation of her lungs, both kidneys, liver and corneas. During her lifetime Chrissy was an avid blood donor just like her father. In memory of Chrissy we encourage everyone who can, to consent to organ donation and donate blood if you are able.

We share our sincere condolences with Pat and all of Chrissy’s family and friends. Her presence in our lives will be profoundly missed. It is with a deep sense of both sadness and gratitude that I reflect on our friendship. When I moved to Grimsby, I was fortunate to be seated next to Chrissy on the first day at the start of grade 11. She was always a laugh and so big hearted, she welcomed me into her life and family. Her house became a second home through the end of high school. She was a constant and valued presence since, and the best Godmother our daughter Olivia could ever have. We haven’t lived in the same town since 1972 and for many years we lived on opposite coasts, and I cherish all the times we travelled to visit each other. It was always fun to explore new places with an old friend. Chrissy even managed to talk me into walking across the Golden Gate Bridge, something I’d been too timid to do for 12 years. We always looked forward to the pedaheh she would whip up. It was a delicious way for her to share her Ukranian heritage. She was also a talented photographer, most of the best pictures we have our our visits were taken by her! The bonus of returning to Toronto in the 2000s was seeing Chrissy over Christmas as she returned to visit her family. We have fond memories of her and Auntie Vera joining us at Olivia’s Christmas concerts at City Hall. We also loved visiting Vera at her home, a place with deep connections to Chrissy’s grandparents. We were also happy to spend time with Chrissy’s niece, Katherine. She did her auntie proud with her fortitude and grace in executing Chrissy’s estate. I’m so thankful she came out west with Jody in 2024 for our trip to Victoria. While on the Sunshine Coast, we were all thrilled when we arrived at the restaurant we’d booked and Joni Mitchell arrived and ate with her entourage, including Judy Collins! As a host, I couldn’t have offered anything better! Chrissy lived an energetic life and nurtured deep connections with many friends and family. She had so many visitors at the hospital that the staff started to ask “Who is she?!”. She was a special person with a huge heart, enthusiastic and fun, generous and loyal. She cared deeply for everyone and was a loving mama to her sweet dog Izzie, who passed away the previous year. I’m thankful that she shared many of her friends and family with me over the years so that we have company in our grief. Love you forever Chrissy, grateful for all the love you gave and memories we shared. We miss you. xo Suzie, Wade & Olivia Rose
