It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Cherryl Ann Bell, who left this world peacefully on August 12, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She bravely battled cancer and faced numerous health challenges with grace and resilience.
Born on September 6, 1966, in South Bronx, New York, Cherryl was the cherished daughter of Linda Williams and Ronnie Downing, as well as her stepfather, Charles “Butch” Young Jr. (deceased). She was also lovingly raised by her adopted parents, Signora “Mommie” Williams (deceased) and Charles Waring Sr. (deceased).
Cherryl spent 33 years building a life and creating memories with Nathan Bell III She nurtured those around her with kindness, love, and an unwavering spirit. Her smile could light up a room, and she had a compassionate nature, an unconditional love for children and an unwavering love for butterflies, her spirit animal. She touched the lives of everyone she met and was always the life of the party.
Cherryl was a devoted mother to her children, Nathan Joseph Bell IV (Jade), N’ashia Jannay Bell and Brandon Williams. She was a beloved sister to Raymond Diaz (Lesley), Sharif Diaz Sr. (Johnnie Mae), Toni Knight, Chisa Knight, Miriam Williams, Charles Waring Jr., Linda Williams, Tashawn Crandle, Michael Williams, Kenneth Downing, and Regina Eckford (Steve), James Williams (deceased), Signora “PeeWee” Williams (deceased), Gloria Downing (deceased). She also leaves behind a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, adopted sons, adopted daughters and dear friends, whom she lovingly referred to as her “babies.” Her family was the center of her world, and she took immense pride in their achievements, always offering encouragement and support.
Cherryl was an avid reader, enjoyed taking nature walks, was a foodie, and found joy and fulfillment in her time at the beach. Her creativity and enthusiasm were evident in everything she did, leaving a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of witnessing her talents.
Throughout her life, Cherryl embodied the values of family, nurturing, respect, and selflessness. She was a pillar of strength for her family and friends, always willing to lend an ear or a helping hand. Her legacy of cooking, getting along with everyone, dancing, love of music, spiritual nature, and selflessness will continue to live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
A memorial service to celebrate Cherryl’s life will be held on August 24, 2024 at 1pm in The Tributary (3210 Garden Hill Ln., Douglasville, GA 30135).

I first met Cheryl Ann Bell back in 2007 through her husband, who is my cousin, "Nathan". And almost from the outset I was impressed by her straight forward candor, that being someone who could make me laugh. As well as a be that lady who'd waste no words in establishing her point of view, a premise that I came to respect. And why not for she was a New Yorker, like me and like me Miss Bell had a knack for giving it to ya straight up. Which is what most NYers are known for, yet as it was in the years following I would go back to the N.Y. A condition which would see me falling out of contact with Nathan and his family. Which is why when I heard about her passing, I was truly sadden which, a heartfelt moment of which immediately prompted me to say a prayer. For my dearly departed friend, a friend of whom I'll never forget,,,, wherein allow me to say; Cheryl Ann Bell may your entrance into the "Kingdom of The Most High" be a celebration. One that's herald with pomp and circumstance, for a lady who lived her life,,, and when the Lord summoned her spirit to return home,,, I'm sure her spirit was more than relieved. To depart this life,, for the greater glory that awaits her. Cheryl,, God Speed to ya girl,,, for your presence will be missed,,,,,,, Bye.

Love you for life 🦋

The best moments you have been there.

Life of the party!
I met Cherryl through her brother when I moved from NY to Atlanta 15 years ago. From the time I met Cherryl, she was super friendly and made me feel welcomed!! Each time I saw here she smiled (always smiled) and we always had great talks and conversations times. Cherryl was small in size but had the biggest heart! She will be missed immensely 🙏🕊️Mel
Cheryl played many roles in my life! She was Big Sis, a Counselor, and an Elder but most importantly she was our safe space. We could come to her with anything and she never judge us. I’m saddened by her passing but super happy that she is now one of our beloved ancestors and spirit guides. I know you will continue to watch over us.
