Celebrating the Life of
March 16, 1945 — March 6, 2026
Mrs. Charlotte Marie Caviglio passed away peacefully in Maryland on March 6, 2026, after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was just 10 days shy of her 81st birthday.
Charlotte is survived by her sons, Jeff (Debbie) and Doug. Jeff’s children include Lindsey (Adam and Romy), Jack, and Lucy. Doug’s children include Lauren (Jamie, Dakoda, Brooklyn, and Shannia) and Drew (Taisha, Kolton, and Kylah). She is also survived by her sister, Sandra Taylor.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bob; her siblings, William, Stanley, and Pat; and her granddaughter, Amber.
Charlotte was born on March 16, 1945, in Memphis, Tennessee, to Roscoe and Gertude Wilson. She graduated from South Side High School in 1963 and later worked at Dover Elevator until her retirement.
In May 1999, she married the love of her life, Bob. The two spent most of their years together in the Memphis area. In April 2021, Charlotte moved to Edgewater, Maryland, where she lived in a small apartment attached to Jeff’s home.
There, she found great joy in simple pleasures. She befriended a semi-feral neighborhood cat named George and spent many days walking the neighborhood with him as her companion. She also enjoyed shopping at Kohl’s, dining at her favorite restaurants, keeping up with reality TV & her favorite shows, and buying plenty of cozy pajamas and soft towels.
Although the last five years of her life were marked by Alzheimer’s, glimpses of Charlotte’s playful spirit, hearty laugh, and wonderful sense of humor always remained. In her moments of clarity, she often spoke about her deep love for her family and her gratitude for the life she had lived.
A graveside memorial service will be held on Sunday, March 15, at 11:00 a.m. at Memorial Park Southwoods Cemetery, with a reception to follow. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Charlotte’s remarkable life.
