September 11, 1929 — July 15, 2024
Charles ' Charlie ' Rizzuto died peacefully in hospice care on 7/15/24 in East Northport, NY at the age of almost 95 . Charlie is survived by his son Rob and daughter-in-law, Kimberley , of Northport, NY , grandson, Tyler of Brooklyn, NY and grandaughter, Ally of NYC, NY . He is preceded in death by his parents Michael and Josephine (Vaselll i) Rizzuto, his brother Joseph Rizzuto, wife Rita (Banschick) Rizzuto and son Stephen Rizzuto . Charlie was born on September 11, 1929 in Brooklyn NY to Michael and Josephine (Vaselli)) Rizzuto . graduated from Lincoln High School in Brooklyn and St. John’s University with a degree in accounting. He joined Southland Frozen Foods in 1952, where he started in sales and grew to be the admired and respected President and CEO before the sale of the company 37 years later. He went on to start a successful food brokerage firm, Ferrari Food Marketing . He married the love of his life, Rita in 1956, 2 years after meeting on vacation at Tamiment resort in the Poconos and winning a dance contest together with their smooth moves (see picture in memories). Shortly after marrying, they moved to Whitestone NY and welcomed their children Stephen in 1958 and Robert in 1961. It was a move to Old Brookville NY that settled the Rizzuto family into the home Charlie loved for over 50 years. Robert married Kimberley in 1990 at a wedding Charlie both brought enormous joy to and gained enormous joy from. When Rob & Kimberley welcomed their children Tyler (in 1997) and Ally (in 2000), Charlie gained the title we believe he cherished the most - “Pop Pop” and his grandchildren adored and loved on him til the very end. Charlie was a very proud husband, father, grandfather, uncle, great uncle business leader and friend. He was very loved and admired in return.
