Catherine Karr

Catherine Jane Karr, known to her friends and family as Cath, was born in Saginaw, MI on June 12, 1954, to James and Joyce Hof. She passed away on January 21, 2025. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Cath retired from the Defiance Utilities Billing Office, where she dedicated many years of service. A breast cancer survivor, she helped others undergoing treatment by crocheting blankets. She was also a member of the Eagles and Moose lodge.

Cath had a passion for warm weather, reading, boating, and spending time with her family and friends. She was a long-suffering Browns fan, an ecstatic Ohio State fan, and she will always be a BGSU Falcon. She had an amazing sense of humor, was fiercely loyal, and was unapologetically herself. She will be remembered as an incredible mom, sister, and friend.

Cath is survived by her loving husband, David Karr, and their two children, Chris (Liddy) Karr and Chelsea (Justin) Campbell. She was a proud grandmother to five grandchildren: Kennedy (Skylar) Knitz, Penny, Isaac, and Natalie. She was also a great-grandmother to Isabel. Cath also leaves behind her siblings: Chris (Vicki) Hof, Tom (Gretchen) Hof, Bob (Carol) Hof, and Ann (Mark) Kepke.

Dave and the kids thank everyone for their love and support during this difficult time. Family is planning a memorial service at a later, warmer date.
