Joseph Steven Shearer

Joseph Steven Shearer, 77, husband of Jackie Grant Branyon Shearer, died Wednesday December 25, 2024, at McCall Hospice House in Simpsonville.
Born in Anderson County, he was the son of the late Joseph Mills and Retha Clamp Shearer. He was a Marine veteran and member of Covenant Baptist Church in Anderson.
Surviving in addition to wife Jackie Shearer of the home are a daughter, Mitzi Yvette Shearer of Greenville and a son, Matt Walker of Washington DC, 2 stepsons, Donnie (Stacey) Branyon and Steve Branyon both of Honea Path, brother Kenneth (Dottie) Shearer of Belton, and grandchildren Colt Branyon, Elle Branyon, and Reenie Shearer.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Irene Shirley Shearer.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:30 on Monday at Cox Funeral Home.
A Graveside service will be held at 2:00PM on Monday, December 30 at Garden of Memories with Rev. Terry Greer and Rev. Steve Silvey officiating. The burial will follow service.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Disabled American Veterans, Macedonia Baptist Church of Williamston or Covenant Baptist Church of Anderson.
The family will be at their respective homes.
