Boyd proudly served in the Navy for four honorable years before transitioning into civilian life. As a high school graduate, he pursued a career in the fire department and retired after years of dedicated service.
In his personal life, Boyd found joy in simplicity. He cherished the time spent with his family, especially his daughter Lorene Meighen and her husband, Douglas Meighen. He also shared a special bond with his stepson Roger Bowlin and granddaughter Nicole Meighen.
Boyd's late wife, Betty Hanes, preceded him in death, leaving behind cherished memories of a loving partnership. As a family man, Boyd's love and devotion to his kin were unwavering and served as a cornerstone of strength and support for all who knew him.
