Boyd Devon Hanes, born on March 31, 1933, in Roanoke, Virginia, peacefully departed from this world on April 26, 2024, in Tampa, Florida. He was the beloved son of Robert and Ruby Hanes.

Boyd proudly served in the Navy for four honorable years before transitioning into civilian life. As a high school graduate, he pursued a career in the fire department and retired after years of dedicated service.

In his personal life, Boyd found joy in simplicity. He cherished the time spent with his family, especially his daughter Lorene Meighen and her husband, Douglas Meighen. He also shared a special bond with his stepson Roger Bowlin and granddaughter Nicole Meighen.
