Robert "Bob" Charles Elmer, 81, died March 2, 2024 in Sun City, Arizona.
Born on June 20, 1942, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Bob leaves behind a legacy of many hats. After obtaining engineering degrees from Dunwoody Institute and the University of Minnesota, Bob had a fulfilling career, spending over 20 years as a computer engineer for the Sperry Univac/Unisys Corporations and later serving as Vice President for Floe International in McGregor, MN. He eventually started his own business as a handyman, affectionately known as Odd Job Bob. Retirement brought him joy from the lakes of Minnesota to the dry heat and sunshine of Arizona, with a round of golf whenever possible.
Bob is survived by his spouse, Dianne Elmer, daughters Dr. Jennifer Elmer and Stephanie Elmer, brother Paul Elmer, Jr., and nephews Todd Elmer (Pam), Tom Elmer, and Tim Elmer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Sr. and Mildred Elmer, his infant son Derek Elmer, and infant brother Gerald Elmer.
A service to honor Bob's life will be held on Friday, May 31, 2024, 2:00pm at Lakewood Cemetery Memorial Chapel, 3600 Hennepin Ave, Minneapolis, Minnesota. Visitation to take place one hour prior to the service, with internment following the ceremony. Following the services at Lakewood, a celebration of life reception will be held from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at the Lynhall Event Center, 2640 Lyndale Avenue So. Minneapolis, Minnesota.
