Beverly J. Smith, 88, of Tacoma, Washington, passed away on March 24, 2024 in Edgewood, Washington. She was born in Tacoma, Wa. to the late Chester Hayes Hampton and Alice Theodora Nelson.
Beverly had a fulfilling career working for the Tacoma Public School District for 20.5 years before retiring. She was a dedicated employee who made a positive impact on those around her.
She was a loving mother to Mickey Smith, Sherry Gough, Kathy Montgomery, and Karie Murray, who proceeded her in death, as well as her beloved sister Darlene Hampton. Beverly is survived by her sister Carolyn, her son in law, Floyd Montgomery, Her Grandchildren: Erin Smith, Jason Gough, Sara Peters, Tara Smith, Heather Perryman, Jesse Smith, Salina Montgomery, Jeremy Murray, Dillion Grimes, as well as many other grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family, and friends.
Beverly was known for her love of the outdoors, especially gardening despite being allergic to flowers. She enjoyed camping, trips to Portland, Oregon, Ocean Shores, seattle, pt defiance park and rose garden, back yard Bbqs, and leisurely walks with her family. Her passion for creating a beautiful garden, especially with roses, was a testament to her determination and love for nature.
Beverly's presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her, but her memory will live on in the hearts of those she touched.

Grandma graduating from highschool at Tacoma community College. This goes to show her dedication to her passion for the school system of almost 21yrs and making sure all us kids had good grades and stayed in school the best she could.
