Betty Thayer

June 20th, 2023, Betty Lucille Thayer, 83, of Mt Juliet, Tn passed away peacefully in her sleep with family at her bedside after a short illness.
She was born to Herbert A and Marjorie L Clark on Jan. 5, 1940. After graduating from high school and a diploma nursing program, she met and married the love of her life David Thayer in 1961. She had 4 children: Jill, Nancy, Sharyn and Elaine. They moved many times from New York, New Hampshire , California and Pennsylvania and settled down in Mt. Juliet, Tn in 1986.
She dedicated her life to her family and a long career in cardiac nursing. She retired at the age of 79 after serving Donelson and Summit hospitals. She loved to scrapbook, do jigsaw puzzles and the Sunday crossword. She loved game shows and scrabble . She was loving, kind and generous.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Gordon Clark and her daughter Jill Zarnoski.
She was survived by her husband David Thayer, her daughters Nancy (Scott) Miller, Sharyn (Tim) Deal and Elaine (Terry) Johnson and her 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Betty was one of 9 children and leaves behind brothers Richard, Donald, and Ronald Clark and sisters Pat Roof, Esther Barkley, Linda Pimm and Janet Berry along with many nieces and nephews.
She will be missed by all who were privileged enough to know her.
There are no services planned at this time. A celebration of life will occur with details to be determined.
