Barbra Jane Mora was born on September 27, 1948, in San Francisco, California to Audrey and Gilbert Dobbs. Barbra, her brother Ray and her parents lived right below her grandparents on Clement St. until 1956. She remembered this time with her grandparents and living in the city fondly. She loved being able to run upstairs to have a second breakfast with her grandparents. She carried on her close-knit family traditions with her own grandchildren.
Barbra met her husband, Max, in 1968 while she was working at J.M. McDonald which Max describes as the moment his life began. Barbra was a proud and loving mother, grandmother, wife, sister, aunt and friend. She loved spending time with family and friends as well as tending to her garden, pulling out weeds in the sun was a favorite pastime of hers. Barbra enjoyed staying active and especially cherished the lifelong friendships she made through her Jazzercise group. She often shared her creativity and love of homemade desserts with her grandchildren. She treasured every moment in her role as Grandma and showered her grandchildren with love and affection.
She was also passionate about making a difference in other people’s lives and was compelled to help others by volunteering at Kaiser, supporting women’s rights and helping seniors through Medicare advocacy.
She is survived by husband of 53 years, Max, son Ryan (Kerensa), daughter Antonia (Brian); grandchildren Noah, Vivienne, Elijah, Sophia and Rowan; beloved sister of Ray (Kathryn).
