Antoine’s Beloved Community and Family
(Please allow Anael, Gabe and the family to have space to process the shock and grief that comes with this horribly sad time. They will reach out when they have their feet back on the ground.)
I am writing you with a heart full of sadness from the tragic loss of our soulful, beauty-creating, community-gathering, loving father, brother, friend and soul family member Antoine Bonsorte.
The pain and heaviness from his sudden departure is counterweighted by the amount of beauty he left behind; two amazing sons, Anael and Gabriel, countless stunning and vivid photo and video memoirs from his colorful life, excellent art installations, beautiful music and loads of glorious memories he shared with us from all over the world.
Antoine focused on beauty throughout his life and his joy of bringing people and art together wherever he traveled. He was a real butterfly, here today, gone on to the next flower in a flash of an eye.
Maybe that’s how he wanted to depart this realm, just like a shooting star.
I’m so grateful the pieces aligned for him to have been living the reality of his long time dreams in Costa Rica, co-creating an arts and culture community center with his beloved boys Anael and Gabe by his side. They made beauty together and many were able to enjoy it.
Still, many will continue enjoying the beautiful works of art that Antoine created. His love and incredible artistic expression permeates our space and transcends time, eternally present in our universe.
Please go to the gofundme to help support putting together a memorial for Antoine as well as help with the expenses to tie up the loose ends that he left behind.
Also, Anael is asking for any videos, photos, music or even writings that you may have of Antoine’s to be shared with him, for now send an email to [email protected] if you have any, and instructions will be shared.
For now please feel free to leave a message, photos and videos, stories of Antoine on this memorial site so we can share our collective love with his beloved sons and family.
Love and Graceful Power 🤍🕊️💙💔
Please share a photo or video, or post a heartfelt condolence to the family.

Pura Vida

Papa was always creating art and capturing beauty.

Antoine! Wherever you fly now, I hope you can feel me call out your name with love and gratitude for your essence. My heart feels split by the thunderbolt style of your departure. You were just getting started on the dream that you envisioned for decades with your favorite people, your sons. You were so proud of them and so excited to be able to create a place where you could all be together. You always had the incredible capacity to create beauty from nothing just by starting with your inspiring visions. You did so much; music, art installations, camera magik, community building, wood working, construction, even dancing salsa/cumbia (!) you were a renaissance man in true form. In my opinion, you were not applauded enough. You loved deeply and were a loyal friend to so many of us. You reached out and invited us where ever you were, usually on another adventure reinventing yourself every so often in a new country and always creating something wonderful! We had so many fun adventures together and so many dance and music manifestations together, memories I will replay in my brain till I am through with this realm. I am so regretful that I didn’t find the time to go see you in Costa Rica, where you said that you were building “heaven in nature”, your words and I believed you. I had the honor of being your housemate, your spirit daughter -in law, your best friend, your soul family. I will miss you and your incredible knack for bringing community and art together. Please talk to us through rainbows and butterflies, I miss you. I love you. Anael, Gabe, Nikki, Joelle, Odette and all his loving family/friends in France and around the world, condolences, there aren’t words to describe how my heart aches for you all to bear this heavy loss. Wishing for strength, love and support during your grieving and healing.
Papa I will miss hearing you call me “Liz darling” in your most charming voice. You made me feel loved and respected. May you rest in peace. I love you.
