Annie was born on June 5th 1951 in Washington, D.C. to the late Paul Gaither and Helen Gaither. Annie was a Ridgeview Panther, Class of 1969 . She was a proud veteran of the US Army who achieved the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Annie was a graduate of Winston-Salem State University with a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing. She worked at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center before retiring from Boone Medical Clinic as a Civil Service Nurse in Virginia Beach, VA. Annie will always be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for her family. She was a member of Hartzell Memorial United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Larry Gaither.
Left to cherish her memories is her sons Charles Helems, Greg Gaither, Rodney Gaither; Daughters, Pam Helems and Stella Helems; Grandchildren, Scottie Gaither, Simone Gaither, Sherita Gaither, Rodney Gaither Jr.
Services will be private. With special appearances and host from her granddaughter Simone Gaither .
Annie may be gone from our sight, but her spirit will live on in all who were fortunate to know her. A life that touches others goes on forever.
