Lancaster, Virginia - Andrew "Andy" Bromfield, age 74, passed away peacefully on January 7, 2024, in Lancaster, Virginia. He was born on February 20, 1949, in Kilmarnork, VA.
As a young man, Andrew joined the military and served his country as a Marine in Vietnam. His dedication and bravery earned him numerous honors, including the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. Andrew's service to his country was a testament to his courageous and selfless nature. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
In addition to his military service and career as a mechanic, Andrew had a passion for fishing and wood crafting. He would spend hours by the water, enjoying the serenity and excitement that fishing brought him. His talent for wood crafting allowed him to create beautiful pieces that will be cherished by his loved ones.
Andrew is survived by his son, Andrew Bromfield, seven grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Janice Bromfield.
A small service will be held at the family's home in Lancaster, VA, on January 10, 2024, followed by a second service in Selma, NC, on January 13, 2024. These gatherings will be an opportunity to honor Andrew's life and keep his memory alive in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. It is a time for remembrance, love, and celebrating the wonderful person he was.
