Celebrating the Life of
March 24, 1958 — November 26, 2024
Allan John Torn, 66, of Menomonee Falls, WI, passed away on Tuesday, November 26, 2024 after bravely battling multiple health conditions.
Al was born March 24, 1958 in Hartford, WI, the son of the late Douglas and Margaret. Al was a member of the Menomonee Falls North High School Class of 1976.
Al was a gifted mechanic with a lifelong passion for anything he could “wrench on”. He found joy in fixing things and teaching others all he knew. Over the years, Al shared his knowledge and skills with his children - Joe, Ellie, and Courtney - instilling in them not only the mechanics of cars and engines but also a love for learning and problem-solving. Growing up, the kids always had something to ride around the yard on, thanks to Al’s expert hands. Al took pride in showing his children how to bring things back to life with patience and persistence.
Al's shop was more than just a place to work; it was a gathering spot for friends and neighbors, where he was always ready to lend a hand on a project. Whether it was a car, a tractor, or anything else with an engine, Al’s door was always open to those in need of assistance. His love for working with his hands and helping others was a testament to his character, and he leaves behind a legacy of shared knowledge and self-reliance. In everything he did, Al’s hands were his tools, but his heart was what truly made him special.
Al is survived by his three children Joe (Liz) Torn, Hartford; Ellie (fiancé Laurie) Torn, Waukesha, Courtney (Easton) Wiedmeyer, West Bend and two grandsons; Blake and Lucas Torn. Al is further survived by his siblings Richard, Daniel (Sylvia), John (Rita), Ron, Donna (Tim) Finley and Mark (Suzanne) and many nieces and nephews. Al was preceded in death by his parents, Douglas and Margaret and his sister-in-law, Cynthia.
In lieu of a visitation, the family asks that you keep Al in your thoughts and prayers during this time of loss.
Please share a photo or video, or post a heartfelt condolence to the family.
