Alice Hall Milanese
Born February 6th, 1936. Alice was 87years old when she passed away peacefully on July 30, 2023 at Oak Manor Hospice in Largo FL.
Alice was born to John and Evelyn Hall in Richmond, Indiana. She grew up in the small town of New Paris, Ohio. Alice married at 16yrs old to William Markley in 1952 and they had 4 children together; Jack, Karen, Susan, & Rodney. The family moved from New Paris, OH to St. Petersburg, FL. Alice became widowed at just 29yrs old and left to raise 4 children. During Alice's middle years, she adopted two children; Loveda and Mitch. Alice was married a second time to John Milanese.
Alice's legacy is her love of family. She raised not only her own six children, but co-parented two grandchildren and two great-granchildren up to the last months of her life.
Alice loved horses, the mountains, her coffee, and her cigarettes. She made the best macaroni salad and her recipe will be passed on.
Alice was a hard worker and lived a simple, modest life.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, daughter Karen Lonkey, and grandson Jeremy.
Alice is survived by her children; Jack (Rebecca) Markley, Susan Meyer, Rodney Markley, Loveda Markley, and Mitchell (Melissa) Markley, 10 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
Her family will miss her deeply, but are content with knowing she has joined her daughter Karen and best friend, Shirley in Heaven.

This photo was the last time we went to eat at her favorite restaurant - Red Lobster. I have so many great memories growing up at her house behind Franco Motors where the tree eventually fell on the roof and crushed the house. I will forever remember her laugh and witty spirit. In the last few years I got to spend some time talking with grandma and asking her questions about our family history. She was a very honest person and did not mind sharing anything. A month before she passed she randomly called me and we had a 45 minute conversation about life. I love you grandma and you will be missed by many!
Sweet Alice you will be missed. I know my sister was up there waving you on to heaven. I can see you both dancing and carrying on and having your coffee. RIP and kiss my sissy for me. Alice Thank you for being my sisters best friend. We love you Alice thank you for being a part of our family.
I didn't know Alice very long,I met her through Shirley. The more I knew her the more I loved her. She will be missed terribly. I hope Shirley met her with a cup of coffee & a smoke.

Alice was the most unconditional-loving person I knew. She was the perfect mother-in-law. Never meddling, but always in my corner with support and understanding even through the rough patches of marriage to her son. Alice always had kids around. She loved taking my children for overnight visits. She was a hands-on grandma who entertained, cooked, and cared for many. My fondest memories are when I'd go the next morning to pick up my kids and she was always at the table with her coffee, her newspaper, and her cigarette in hand. I would end up staying for hours chatting with her while my kids continued to play with her other grands and younger children. Alice loved Christmas and was always flexible and patient for everyone's arrival because of such a large family. Her biggest adventures were trips in the minivan to the mountains. Many do not know this but Alice shared with with me that as a young girl, she was a jockey in "harness racing", hence her love of horses. Alice loved when I'd invite her over to share with her about her ancestry. Two years ago, I traveled to Indiana to learn more about my own family, but made a trip to Richmond to visit her parent's and grandparents gravesites. I took photos for her and she was so touched as she was never able to visit there since her mom's passing. Just a few years ago, Alice lost her daughter Karen. This loss really took the wind from her sail. Then, this past December she lost her best friend, Shirley who she saw every day. She was heartbroken. Alice told me at recent visits that she was happy with her life and that she did not want her quality of life to diminish here at the end. Fortunately, Alice's wishes were met. She passed peacefully and pain free. Now she is with Karen and Shirley and the rest of her beloved family. I will miss you mom💜
